Frequently asked questions

Answers about how often to clean gutters in Cairns, insurance, two-storey access, gutter guard, drain jetting, hydro excavation, service areas and getting a quote.

How often should gutters be cleaned in Cairns?

In Far North Queensland we usually recommend at least twice a year — once before the wet season and once after — and more often if you have heavy tree cover. Blocked gutters in a tropical downpour are the number-one cause of overflow and ceiling water damage, so a clean before the storms is cheap insurance. If you'd rather not think about it, gutter guard cuts cleaning right back.

Are you insured?

Yes — we carry public liability insurance and work to proper height-safety standards on every job. We're happy to supply our certificate of currency on request, which is especially important for strata, real estate and commercial work.

Do you do two-storey and hard-to-access homes?

Absolutely. Our vacuum equipment lets us clear most gutters from the ground, and where we do need to go up we use the right height-safety gear. Two-storey, steep or awkward-access homes are no problem — and far safer for you than getting on a ladder yourself.

What's the difference between gutter cleaning and gutter guard?

Cleaning clears what's already in your gutters; gutter guard stops it getting in. If you're cleaning two or three times a year, quality guard usually pays for itself by slashing how often you need a clean and protecting your gutters from rust. Many customers do a thorough clean and a guard install in the one visit.

Do you clear blocked drains and downpipes too?

Yes. We run high-pressure drain jetting that clears blocked stormwater drains, downpipes and pipework — including tree roots and built-up silt that snakes just push past. We can also camera-check the line so you know it's genuinely clear.

What is hydro excavation and when do I need it?

Hydro (non-destructive) excavation uses high-pressure water and a vacuum to dig safely around buried pipes, cables and services without striking them. It's used for potholing, exposing services and trenching where a machine bucket would be too risky — common on commercial, civil and building sites.

What areas do you service?

We're based in Cairns and service the wider Far North Queensland region — including Cairns City, Edge Hill, Manoora, Trinity Beach, Smithfield, Redlynch, Gordonvale, Earlville, Mooroobool and Palm Cove. Not sure if you're in range? Just give us a call.

How do I get a quote?

Call us, or send a quick enquiry through the site with your address and what you need. For most homes we can give you a price over the phone or after a quick look — no obligation, and no surprises on the day.
